Folders, in German “Mappen”, contain loose sheets of drawings, prints or collages. The practice of collecting and composing such folders is common for artist of the past century.

My folders are collections of handwritten texts, drawings, stiching and embroidery, collages – all on paper. There is a folder dedicated to each grand topic that my art concerns. In the style of medieval manuscripts and bestiaries, they hold the background stories, respective literature and poems as well as early sketches and form the backbone of each of my series. They are not published online and not sold, as they form my most intimate inspirational pieces. The folders are only viewable in person during exhibitions and for each one I make a pair of special gloves to be worn while turning the pages.
